Once Upon a Time There were Two BallerinasDombrovszky Linda - 25'
„You have to search for what is lovable, and then your soul is calm.” – claim the 95-year- old Kolozs twins, Hungary’s oldest identical twins. It was this philosophy that kept the once world-famous ballerinas alive while being exposed to the greatest troubles of the 20 th century. At the peak of their carrier their whole lives turned upside-down. They danced on the most important stages of Europe, then, after the war began and later, when the communist regime was in power, they lost everything they had: their job, their carrier, and finally their home, along with love and dreams. Everything, but each other. What has been their shared secret? The film provides a subjective recollection of the previous century’s history through authentic archive footage and the animation of the twins’ diary drawings.
